The Flint

THE FLINT
“The Flint” was established in September 2001 as the official school organ which was simply characterized as the “school’s version of democracy.” Considering the literal meaning, when a stone is rubbed to another, it causes flint and later that flint becomes fire. Fire doesn’t mean violence or vengeance, but rather, it gives light. Light signifies knowledge and knowledge is power.
Aside from the fact that campus journalism is a perpetual rights of students, the main objective of this publication is make the communication channels open and not to burn bridges of goodwill. Getting to know the ideas and opinions of people would be a contributory factor for a successful management. For that reason, “The Flint” welcomes potential writers in different fields of interest who in one way or another can compete with the advancements of the present time.
Creativity, artistry, articulation, self-expression, social awareness, freedom of speech and involvement are the end products of a democratic and responsible journalism that lead to dynamic education. It is not simply an expose’ of oneself, instead it constantly seeks to make oneself socially relevant by combining reliability, integrity, fairness and justice.
