BFP Regional Director RIII Visits ICF
Among all schools in the province of Tarlac, C/Supt. Ariel A. Barayuga, CEO VI and Regional Director of Bureau of Fire Protection Region III chose and evaluated the performance of ICF in the National Simultaneous Fire and Earthquake Preparedness Drill last March 11 at ICF’s college building located at corner Burgos St., and Quezon St., “Your participation is quite impressive. I’m giving you a commendation for that performance,” General Barayuga exclaimed.
Along with him were also observers from the Red Cross National Headquarters, Txtfire – Manila, headed by Mr. Sherwin P. Ramos, the Municipal Mayor of Paniqui, Mayor Miguel “Dors” Cojuangco Rivilla and his colleagues in the locality, contingents from the BFP Region III were also present, Col. Eduardo D. Agustin, the Commanding Officer 302 (TLC) CDC from Camp Aquino also assessed the exhibition and of course the firemen from the provincial office also joined the demonstration.
The evaluation turned out exceptionally because prior to the demonstration one day lecture was delivered on March 5 by the officers and members of the Provincial Fire Brigade led by SFO1 Manuel Sambo of the Provincial Emergency Medical and Rescue Team.
The series of lecture covered “Incident Command System, Understanding Geological Hazards and Phases of Earthquake Drill.” “There should be no uncertainties about this exercise because the source of the lectures is from PHILVOLCS (Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology),” said Mr. Marianito Monte, the proponent of the Earthquake Preparedness Drill in ICF and the Coordinator of NSTP.
The drill was also coordinated by Mr. Marvin Guiang, Operations Officer and Team Leader of PDRRMC (Tarlac), Mr. Roberto C. Santos, PDRRMC Equipment Operator, FO1 Vererando M. Rico Jr., SFO4 Victor P. Yumul, SFO1 Fe L. Mabanglo, FO1 Conrado C. Molina and FO1 Emerita K. Molina.
