ICF Faculty and Staff Visited CLSU

Some 55 members of the faculty and staff  joined a field trip last December 9, 2008 to venerate the nobility of teaching profession.  The teachers’ activity was planned and coordinated by School Registrar, Ms. Mary Ann Coliamco and the Dean of Education, Mrs. Evangeline Exiomo.  The two school leaders didn’t have any tough time for the reservation to visit Central Luzon State University because the latter is an alumna in that chartered university.

The tour started with an orientation at 8:00 A.M. at the CLSU Public Relations Office as a part of welcoming guests.  During the pre-orientation program the PRO said that their university is what the Philippines is known for.  “Actually, CLSU has been a center of excellence for Agriculture and Fisheries for quite long,” the PRO proudly announced.  He also told the visitors that whenever there are new innovations in agro, aqua and industrial sector to be implemented by the government, one should have the presumption that CLSU is a partner.  The team witnessed astounding preservation and propagation of natural resources in the university dominated by science and technology.

Headed by Ma’am Mary Ann, the team drove onto its itinerary.  To mention some, many of them were impressed to observe the College of Arts and Sciences with their ostentation of multi-dimensional collection of models of biological species.  The College of Fisheries is also notable of their high bred “tilapia” weighing as much as 1.5 kilo per piece.  “We inserted a computer chip inside those tilapias so that we may know their period of reproduction,” the head of the department told the observers.  Young and old teachers alike were also amazed to see high bred goats which look like herd of calf.  Without hesitance, Dr. Abella, the school director asked the head of the College of Animal Husbandry of how much does each goat cost.  The head promptly replied that the price of each goat may range from 12,000 to 20,000 Php.
The visiting group also dropped by the Science and Technology Department of the university which exhibits the complicated process of mushroom culture.  The ICF family felt the cordiality of every worker in the department the fact that they answered questions of  their visitors cheerfully.  On their final destination, the bunch of teachers bought their own choice from the Carabao Farm and Dairy Products Cooperative Market.

At 5:00 P.M. to be exact the convoy of transport service of teachers safely reached home.  But Ma’am Mary Ann looked disappointed because her expectation of maximum participation in that teachers’ activity was not fully achieved.
