Expect the Unexpected

Expect the Unexpected
By Mark P. Castillo

A group of bonafied fourth year high school students of the Interworld Colleges Foundation, Inc just competed and won last November 24, 2010 in the Provincial Meet’s Cheerdance Competition that was held at SM City Tarlac. It was the best achievement of the school so far in the field of cheerdancing, which brought such a great honor to the school and also to the Municipality of Paniqui.

The win was unexpected because the batch of students who participated was known for being the yearly losers for three consecutive years starting from their freshmen year in the school intramural’s cheerdance competition. Their luck just started this school year where as “SENIORS”, the team experienced for the very first time the overwhelming feeling of victory.

Maybe this was truly their year, because as “ICFians” they were given the chance to compete and represent the school in the Municipal Meet’s Cheerdance Competition where they competed and won the championship against two of Paniqui’s premier schools, the Paniqui Christian School and Central Luzon High School. This is where they earned the right to represent the municipality as “Paniquenians” in the Provincial Meet and again brought home the bacon against schools from Moncada, Pura, and San Manuel.

Through the team’s efforts and sacrifices together with their hardworking trainers, members of the high school faculty and school heads, who contributed much to their success, truly inspires the team to work hard and pursue more championships. In the meantime, it’s just fine to expect the unexpected because who knows this might produce the sweetest victory.
